Gamay Noir from the Beaujolais-Villages Cru. Beaujolais makes perfect summer wine - great with barbecue, lovely with a picnic, fantastic with charcuterie, great for sipping, especially if just a touch chilled. Aviron's grapes are farmed biodynamically and his wine-making approach is a "return to traditional practices that have always made fantastic Gamay wines. Sustainable viticulture, extremely old vines and classic Burgundian techniques". This wine is full of cherry and plum aromas. It is velvety and succulent, medium plus bodied and shows lively acidity. A superior Beaujolais-Villages at a great price point. Beaujolais, France, 2018.
